ABOUT ME

Hello and welcome to my site.  My name is Andrew and I am a qualified Personal Trainer, Movement Coach and Pre/Post Natal Trainer based in Horsham, West Sussex.

My approach to personal training is based on teaching great technique and movement and, as such, I have a certain attitude to exercise.  I like to help anyone who believes in quality of life and would like to embark on a journey to feel better, no matter the size of the goal. 

I focus on building solid foundations for each and every client enabling them to achieve in their chosen activity, increase sports performance, transform their bodies or simply cope with daily living.  

Having been overweight and suffering from back pain for many years I decided something needed to be done. This, as a result, led me on a journey to a happier, healthier and pain-free lifestyle.

CONTINUOUS DEVELOPMENT

Learning how to mobilise, stabilise and strengthen my body inspired me to become a Personal Trainer and a certified Functional Movement System practitioner. I continually build my knowledge to help individuals develop healthier lifestyles, helping them move better by challenging the exercise norms to develop full-body awareness.

WELLNESS

I believe wellness is about how you feel holistically.  This could be as simple as being able to move more freely, lose a little weight, feel a little stronger.  As a result, this balance could lead to having more energy during the day or feeling more confident in yourself.  Health and wellness are as individual as we all are; there are no quick fixes and no one-size-fits-all.

Every client is unique and, through movement analysis, I will work with and build a plan to suit you, and only you.

Andrew is very intuitive and adaptable when it comes to programming his sessions and truly understands how our bodies respond to daily stresses and training. His technique has seen great improvement in myself, especially with my injuries and my confidence in training in general.

Andrew is an excellent personal trainer with a strong focus on technique. He takes the time to get to you know and make you feel at ease. Andrew tailors each session to help you achieve your goals. I highly recommend Andrew as a PT, especially for anyone who has a particular sporting love that they want to support with balanced and thoughtful training sessions.

I started seeing Andrew due to experiencing lower back pain. After just a handful of sessions I am already feeling the benefit of his experience. He has been most informative and has a wealth of knowledge. I feel both my fitness levels and mobility have improved. Along with the sessions, he put a plan in place to enable me to carry out regular exercise away from the sessions to ensure my mobility continues to improve.

What a great quote! Often it is felt that to get results you must be sweating your arse off, lifting heavy weights or running a marathon straight off the bat to be doing ‘exercise’ right; this is simply not true.

Most of us have little movement awareness and the body will have compensated for poor posture, years of sitting, pre-existing injuries or niggles and pain. Throwing yourself into exercise without a thoughtful process is a sure-fire way to get injured; maybe not immediately but it is highly likely to happen.

To help everyone of all abilities and to ensure my clients receive the best service I do not do one-off sessions but private or semi-private personal training packages for anyone at any level of physical ability.  I also run movement-based workshops and classes.

Injury recovery, weight loss, body transformation, and performance will all come as a result of a well-planned and consistent approach to movement and exercise.

Would you like to regain mobility, move away from pain and relieve a little of the stresses of work or life? 

Would you like a calm and mindful moment in the day to focus on your movement, help your brain reconnect with your body, specifically entrenched worry of pain or old injuries, and build a stronger more resilient you?

If so I will work closely with you to understand how your day ticks and prescribe the right plan to redress the balance, move away from pain, de-stress and help you achieve the goals you have set yourself.

Do you prefer to exercise in a group setting?

Would you like to learn and improve your movement, posture and mobility but want an alternative to Pilates or Yoga?

Based on typical movement patterns that translate directly to life in things we do, and things we don't, this class will help turn muscle groups on that have gone into hibernation, tap into areas of tightness and help build overall body stability.  Classes will include:

  • Gentle mobility and stability exercises
  • Different bases of support to challenge stability
  • Every day functional movements

The aim of the class is not to have you dripping in sweat and feeling wasted at the end but feeling like you are getting to know your body, areas of strength and weakness, areas the brain worries about and really focusing on purposeful movement.

The class will be ideal if you suffer from aches and pain or have had recent or past injuries.
